How Will My Bodychange When I Run

TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

This is the endearing title of a song by Foreigner in which the author wonders what love is. Whenever I hear this song, I think an equally endearing character of Friedrich Dürrenmatt: Arnolphe Archilochus, a Greek shy, accountant by profession who lives a dull life until he decides to put an ad in a newspaper in Geneva that would change his life: "SEEKS GREEK GREEK" the same that once published it is immediately answered by a Greek to be taken to a vertiginous social climb and never dreamed it, but surely coveted by many.

To not tell the story here, when Archilochus discovers that his beloved is a high-flying prostitute, who thanks to the influence of his powerful clients has allowed him to climb the pyramid of the Swiss company, with much bitterness he asks her why she had done, what she responds "All I did for you, I did for love and if love does not work, nothing makes sense in life," . This last sentence I quote from memory, that when searching my library book I could not find it, perhaps another book that I lost on the road. Look for it is a really important author and a very funny book: Look for Greek Greek of Dürrenmatt in Tusquets Editores. I do not know why the question relate to this song Archilochus always, the shy accountant to find the occupation of his beloved, asks what is the point of love. The song can be heard on this link

Here insert another version, no subtitles, this beautiful song by Foreigner, accompanied by a symphony orchestra and choirs that accompany them as they would the Olympians if they decide to make music one day with us mere mortals.
